The certification process is managed by our certifying team who work in partnership with your project managers and other consultants to add value to your projects by ensuring that Construction Certificates, Complying Development Certificates and Occupation Certificates can be issued within the program requirements of the project, whilst at all times maintaining our principle responsibility of acting in the public interest.

Principal Certifying Authority Services

Vic Lilli & Partners can provide you with Principal Certifying Authority services which include inspecting building work during construction and where satisfied that the construction meets the required standards, including the conditions of consent, will, upon completion of the construction issue an Occupation Certificate. 
 
 
 

Construction Certificates

If you have development consent, you need a construction certificate before you can start building work or subdivision work. A construction certificate for building work confirms that building plans comply with the Building Code of Australia, are ‘not inconsistent’ with the development consent, and comply with certain other conditions of the development consent.
 
Vic Lilli & Partners can provide you with a comprehensive review of your building plans to assess compliance with the Building Code of Australia and the conditions of consent. Following a successful review Vic Lilli & Partners can issue your Construction Certificate.
 
 

Complying Development Certificates

This certificate is an alternative to obtaining a development consent (issued by Council or in some cases by the State Government). It is only available for routine developments that are stated in the State complying development plan (State Environmental Planning Policies (SEPP) or development control plan).
 
The certificate confirms that a proposed development is a complying development and that the development complies with the Building Code of Australia (BCA) and other relevant standards.
 
The certificate must be obtained before building work commences, including site works such as demolition or excavation.
 
Vic Lilli & Partners can provide you with a comprehensive review of your building plans to assess compliance with the BCA and the applicable complying development plan. Following the submission of all relevant documentation and a successful review Vic Lilli & Partners can issue your Complying Development Certificate.
 
 

Occupation Certificates

Where you have engaged Vic Lilli & Partners to act as your PCA we can upon completion of the construction, where satisfied that the construction meets the required standards, including the conditions of consent, issue an Occupation Certificate. 
 
This confirms that the completed building work is capable of being occupied or used in accordance with its building classification under the Building Code of Australia (BCA).
An occupation certificate must be obtained before a building that has been subject to construction works or has undergone a change of use, for an existing building is occupied.
